Citroën A-type Tuning Calculations

This page lets you simulate the performance and characteristics of your (modified) Citroën A-Type. The idea is that your start of with all standard data, then modify the numbers to see what happends. There is a user guide at the bottom of this page.

Some information: This program is only accurate around the values normally found with Citroën A-types. Very powerfull or heavy cars will give inaccurate figures. Acceleration: The acceleration only depends on the engine torque and weight of the car. To also include gearbox and tyres the torque curve of an engine has to be known. This is not within the scope of this program. The topspeed given is a theoretical top speed. This is the topspeed possible with your car body (and the aerodynamic drag resulting from it) and engine power. The gearbox advice is just checking to see if your car will reach your theoretical topspeed at the engine maximum power rpm. User guide: Choose the car body type (the program provides the car data) or fill in your own car data without choosing a body type. Choose the engine type (the program provides the engine data) or fill in your own engine data without choosing an engine. Choose the wheel type (the program provides the wheel data) or fill in your own wheel data without choosing a wheel. When filling in your own wheel data you can leave the rolling circumfence field blank, the program will calculate this. Choose the gearbox type (the program provides the gearbox ratios) or fill in your own ratios without choosing a gearbox. Press the calculate button. Review the results. Change any of the parameters above. Press the calculate button again. Evaluate the resulting changes. 1 kg = 2.2 lbs, 1 mile = 1.6 km. If you get any error messages, please let me know!
